Il fashion blog di Aimee Jenny Song, conosciuta ai più come Song of Style, mi ha folgorato sin dalla prima visita. I motivi di questo amore a prima vista sono stati diversi: i tratti orientali, che ultimamente mi piacciono molto da vedere anche in passerella, le location delle foto ma, soprattutto, le sapienti combinazioni degli outfits che presentano pezzi che occupano gran parte della wish list delle shopaholic come me. Ed è così che, mentre scorrono le foto, mi imbatto nelle zeppe Alexa di Jeffrey Campbell, blazers vintage, romantiche bluse di Christian Dior e persino l’ormai introvabile tshirt “RIP YSL” by MetroPark, che ha scatenato fortemente la mia invidia. Direttamente da Los Angelese, chiudiamo l’anno in bellezza con la nostra musa di Dicembre. A voi, Aimee.
1. Cos’è lo stile per te? Bhe, questa è una domanda difficile poichè non è semplice definire lo stile. In definitiva lo stile è uno dei taanti modi che consentono di capire com’è una persona realmente: attraverso il modo in cui si veste, il modo in cui arreda la casa, il modo in cui scrive … Potrei dire: “stile = prima impressione”?
2. Gli oggetti che sono sempre nella tua borsa e senza i quali non esci di casa. Il mio rossetto Revlon con protezione solare 15 e Aquaphor (unguento per pelli sensibili, n.d.r.). Voglio che la mia pelle sia super idratata sotto il sole della California, che tende a seccarla!
3. I tuoi stilisti preferiti? Ne ho così tanti, le mie preferenze cambiano a seconda della collezione, ma comunque amo Stella McCartney e Alexander Wang. 4. Le tue modelle preferite? Natalia Vodianova, Frankie Rayder, Freja Beha. 5. L’outfit perfetto per il giorno. Quando sono a Los Angeles, come adesso, il mio outfit “grab coffee” (per andare a prendere un caffè, n.d.r.) consiste in una camicia a vestitino lunga, giacca di jeans e stivali. Quando sono a San Francisco e fa più freddo, indosso camicie vintage con sopra giacche in finta pelliccia, leggings e stivali.
6. L’outfit perfetto per la notte. Ho sempre adorato le paillettes. Ora la passione mi è un po’ passata, così mi piace indossare un bel tubino con i tacchi. Quando mostro il décolleté, evito di indossare abiti orti. Quando invece scopro le gambe, indosso top comodi e copro il seno, con mini cortissime. Secondo me, una donna non deve mostrare mai troppa pelle, se non in spiaggia!
7. Secondo te, quale sarà il trend dell’inverno 2009/2010? Pelliccia finta, stivali altissimi e baschi.
8. Chi/cosa ispira/ha ispirato il tuo stile? Posso trarre ispirazione da tutto quello che mi circonda e da tutti quelli che sono attorno a me. Dalla musica che ascolto, ai film che guardo, alle persone che vedo per strada o nel web. Non copio necessariamente in modo esatta come sono vestiti, ma traggo ispirazione e adatto ciò che vedo al mio modo di vestire.
9. Se avessi un vestito nero basico, come lo renderesti originale e stiloso? Con gli accessori, chi mi conosce lo sa. Adoro i gioielli.
10. Customizzi i tuoi vestiti?Se si, come fai? Intervengo molto sui miei vestiti. Tutti noi abbiamo corpi diversi e molto spesso le taglie non ci calzano a pennello. Non importa se si tratta di un vestito di 30 dollari o 500 dollari, mi deve calzare perfettamente. Il modo migliore per adattarlo è con le spille da balia.
11. Cosa c’è nella tua wish list adesso? Vorrei una borsa di Chanel della quale non ricordo il nome ma che ha un che della Birkin. So che le borse mi durano tutta la vita e non passano mai di moda, sto solo aspettando il momento giusto!!!
12. Con i tacchi o senza? Dipende dalle circostanze. A San Francisco ci sono molte salite, così non posso sempre indossare i tacchi anche se vorrei. Ho molti tacchi spessi, platforms e zeppe che rendono molto semplice camminare sui tacchi alti…in ogni caso porto sempre con me delle scarpe basse in borsa. Alla fine della notte ringrazio sempre me stessa per averle portate!
13. C’è qualcosa nel tuo armadio di cui ti imbarazzi? Non è che mi imbarazza, ma sicuramente non è una scelta di stile: i miei caldissimi Uggs che indosso quando fuori è freddissimo e mi sento pigra! 14. L’oggetto che ami di più nel tuo armadio. Attualmente indosso sempre e ovunque il mio gilet di pelliccia finta. 15. Come mai hai iniziato a scrivere il tuo blog? Leggevo spesso fashion blogs e blogs di design e sono stata ispirata. Ho sempre amato fotografare e pensavo che sarebbe stato carina documentare le foto e condividere la mia passione per il fashion/interior design su un mio blog. Mi crederete o meno, non ho un grande specchio, per cui fotografare i miei outfit mi ha sempre aiutato a capire ciò che funzionava e ciò che non funzionava nel mio abbigliamento!
1.In your opinion, what is style? Ah, this is a hard question to answer because it's hard to define style. It definitely is one way of knowing what a person is like. Whether it's the way they're dressed, the way their place is decorated, the way the write... etc etc. May I say, style=first impression? 2. Which are the items that are always in your bag and that you don’t go out without? my revlon lipstick with spf 15 and aquaphor. I like my skin to be moisturized under the dry california sun. lol 3. Which are your favorite designers? I have so many and it varies depending on the collection but I love Stella McCartney, A.Wang, 4. Which are your favorite models? Natalia Vodianova, Frankie Rayder, Freja Beha 5. Your perfect outfit for the morning. When I'm in LA(like right now) my very easy 'grab coffee outfit' is a long dress shirt, denim jacket and boots. When I'm in San Francisco and the weather is colder, I wear a vintage shirt with a faux fur jacket over, leggings, and boots. 6. Your perfect outfit for the night. I used to be so into sequins. I'm a little over sequins now so I like wearing a cute tube dress with heels. When I'm showing cleavage, I try not to go for such a short dress. When I'm showing my legs, then I go for a loose top and cover the boobies, and tight mini. In my opinion, a girl should'nt show too much skin at once unless she's at the beach, or getting naked.lol 7. In your opinion, which is the winter 09/10 trend? My winter faves right now are faux fur, over the knee boots, and beanies. 8. Who/ What inspires/inspired your style? I can get inspired from everything and everyone around me. From the music I'm listening to, to the movie I watch, or from the stylish people I see on the streets or online. I don't necessarily copy exactly what they're wearing but I get inspired from it and incorporate it to how I dress. 9. If you had a basic black dress, how would you make it original and stylish? Accessorize. People who know me already know. I love jewelries and I absolutely love to accessorize. 10. Do you customize your clothes? If yes, how do you do it? I tend to tailor alot of my clothes. We all have different bodies, and yet, clothing that we get are geared towards the average size therefore it doesn't always fit us perfectly. whether it's a super cheap $30 dress or a $500 dress, I make sure it fits me perfectly. The easiest way to do this is using saftey pins. 11. Which are the items in your wish list now? I really want this one chanel bag(not sure what the syle number is) but has a bit of a birken bag look. I know that bag will last me a life time and won't go out of style so I'm just waiting for the right time.. hehe 12. Heels or flats? Both depending on the circumstances. In San Francisco there are so many hills so I can't always wear heels even if I want to. I do have lots of chunky heels and platforms and wedges which make walking in heels a lot easier.. I also carry flats in my purse whenever I'm going out. I always thank myself for packing my flats at the end of the night. lol 13. Is there an item in your wardrobe that you are embarrassed about? I'm not really embarrassed about it, but definitely not a stylish choice: my really warm uggs that I wear when I'm super cold and lazy. lol 14. The most loved item you have in your wardrobe. Right now I wear my faux fur vest everywhere. 15. Why did you start writing on your blog? I was reading a few fashion and interior design blogs and was very inspired to start my own blog. I always loved taking pictures and thought it would be a nice idea to document them and share my passion for fashion/interior design on my blog. Believe it or not, I don't own a full length mirror and taking pictures of my outfits have helped alot to see what works on me and what doesn't.
